The Hotel Belvedere has been family-owned since its opening in 1907 and is now personally managed by the 3rd and 4th generation of the Hauser family. Located not far from the centre of Grindelwald on its own sun terrace, it offers a unique view of the Eiger.
The 56 air-conditioned non-smoking rooms have a balcony, bath or shower and a choice of different pillows for a restful sleep.
The restaurant is a member of the «Chaîne des Rôtisseurs» and spoils you for the perfect start to the day with a rich breakfast and in the evening with fresh and varied dishes from Swiss and international cuisine.
After an active day in the mountains, you can relax in the wellness area with a salt water Jacuzzi in the garden, play a game of billiards in probably the most beautiful billiard room in the Alps or enjoy a fine drink on the panoramic terrace.
Grindelwald can be easily reached from Interlaken within half an hour by car or train. The Hotel Belvedere is situated at the entrance to the village of Grindelwald, not far from the centre and the railway station. We offer free parking for your car in the hotel's own car park. Charging stations are available for your electric car.
If you arrive by train, we will gladly pick you up at Grindelwald railway station between 07:00 and 20:00. This saves you the 5 minutes walk.
The mountain railways are easy to reach. Our ski bus takes you every morning in comfort to the valley stations of Grindelwald's mountain railways and cableways. And Grindelwald's public bus service stops directly in front of our hotel.

Fine dining in Grindelwald
Johann Hauser expanded the Belvedere in 1910. The then new stove is centrally located in our small, cozy Stübli with only six tables. That time, when the ingredients in the kitchen were home-grown or sourced locally, serves as inspiration for our regional and sustainable concept today.
The modern culinary style of our chef Dávid Imre Rózsa is characterized by technical sophistication as well as reduced and at the same time tasteful compositions. Dávid was awarded one star by the Guide MICHELIN 2023 selection and 15 points by Gault&Millau.
Wellness at the Hotel Belvedere Grindelwald
Relaxation for the whole family in the saltwater whirlpool in the garden with a view of the mountains, indoor pool, whirlpool, Finnish sauna, glacier steam bath and heat gallery, which is used in bathing costumes and is available to the whole family.
The sauna was built using genuine old wood, with a unique appearance and patina.
Our wellness area is reserved for our hotel guests during the winter season from 15:00 to 19:30. Outside these times external guests are also very welcome.
